Greener future for Our South Molton Business

Well September saw us moving into our converted garage unit and take advantage of the free energy and super insulated construction to keep all our costs down to a minimum allowing us to keep client costs keen. We still have the same selection of books and suppliers just streamlining the selection to those less popular being stored offsite.

What a Job it became from and idea on a scrap of paper over supper one night to the finished studio, the plan was to reuse and go green where possible on all materials keeping to our green ethos at all times. In clearing the garage we found all our fixings, electrical fittings and timber stored for the last 10 yrs along with moving boxes never opened from 2003.

Nothing went to waste, the build saw us inserting New windows and doors mis-measured on sale repurposed from Facebook Marketplace, my favorite shopping place, to designing & building a new scissor roof construction to support the old roof. Then a floating insulated floor and Superfoil high performance insulation through out that at one point felt like we were working in a space shuttle crossed with a Faraday cage. even the new oak click lock LVT flooring came from another garage clearance. Its amazing what can be achieved with a bit of hard work and plenty of tea.

Even our signage has been recycled to the new studio as side panels to the entry. The electrician has just completed the hook up and now its just the table to install with books and a New clean top to work on left to do.

Clients can now meet here with no interruptions enjoying the peace at our Eco off-grid design studio, set against the breathtaking Devon countryside, even the neighbours are at peace.
